The roadmap

Twelve months. Four phases. One quit date.

This is the path Leapwise walks you down — week by week — so that leaving your job feels less like a leap and more like a step.

01

Clarify

Weeks 1–4

Surface the right idea for the life you want — not the loudest one.

Milestones

  • Audit transferable skills, network, and capital
  • Define personal runway floor and lifestyle target
  • Draft 3 idea bets scored against time, money, and joy
  • Pick one — write a one-page founder thesis

Exit criteria

You can explain in 60 seconds why this idea, for this person, right now.

02

Validate

Weeks 5–14

Get real signal from real humans before you build the real thing.

Milestones

  • Run 20 problem interviews with the target buyer
  • Ship a smoke-test landing page and pre-sell offer
  • Convert 5 paid pilot customers at near-final price
  • Document the repeatable sales motion (channel + script)

Exit criteria

Strangers pay you money without you begging.

03

De-risk

Weeks 15–34

Engineer the runway so leaving the job is a calculation, not a gamble.

Milestones

  • Hit 50% of replacement income from side revenue
  • Build a 12-month cash buffer (or a credible plan to)
  • Move all client work to evenings + weekends sustainably
  • Set a quit date and write the resignation letter

Exit criteria

Your spreadsheet says yes. Your spouse says yes. You say yes.

04

Launch

Weeks 35–52

Step off the payroll with momentum, not adrenaline.

Milestones

  • Give notice and run a clean 30-day handover
  • Double down on the channel that produced your first 10 customers
  • Hit 100% replacement income within 90 days of quitting
  • Set the year-two ambition: lifestyle, scale, or sale

Exit criteria

You are the business. The business is you. The job is the past.
